Krabi the resort dream town, with 160 kilometers of white beaches along the Adamant Sea which has clear sea water, amazing corals, deep overhanging cliff caves and amazingly beautiful islands. Altogether they comprise source of attraction to many tourists.
Krabi province located 814 kilometers from Bangkok near the Andaman Sea. It extends the area of 4,708 square kilometers mostly covered by beautiful mangrove forest. It also composed of mountains, upland, plain and a little group of big islands.
Krabi city has a river about a 5 kilometer length which flows down to Andaman Sea at Paknam Tumbol. Besides there are two other main channels: Yuan River to the south and Chi Lat to the west which originates from Phanom mountain.
There are two legends describing the meaning of Krabi: 1) The Chinese and Malay merchant sell the tree “Lumphi” which name was corrupted as “Kalubi” and finally it became Krabi.
2) Krabi means a large ancient sword which was presented by villagers to the governor.
